Teaching and training is about building and maintaining the bond between you and your dog. This is a rewarding time for you both and will benefit your dog immensely. I work with any breed of dog, any age. I do a wide variety of training. One of the biggest reasons dogs are abandoned and put in shelters is from Behavioral Problems. Behavioral Problems such as nipping, counter surfing, guarding objects like food, toys, or people, fear of other dogs, aggression, door dashing, jumping, barking, and chewing on furniture.

Homework-

Lucy-

  • practice "focus" 15times x 3times a day, with various changes in duration. Ex. 4sec, 7 sec, 5 sec, 8 sec, 3 sec. Dogs are smart and know when something keeps getting harder, sometimes they choose to stop tryin when they relies this. . Goal is to hold focus for at least 10 seconds from standing position

  • Get Lucy use to returning to a "default place" such as a bed, mat, or cot. Feed TO the bed to build value to the space. Making it fun and safe to return to.

  • Goal is to have strangers extend hand out to her and have her sniff them. Currently all we are asking is her to sniff and GREET the stranger, no petting is involved right now. We want to build her confidence slowly, make it on her terms.

  • Remember to CLICK and REWARD as soon as she sniffs or even interacts with another person in a calm manner!
